It’s impossible not to miss someone who is dead. It’s not possible to miss someone who is very close to heart. I lost two of my cousin brothers to road accident. When they surrendered to god, I surrendered to depression . It took me two years to get out of depression .It’s my husband who stood by during this phase of life. If not him, my life would have been disaster. So firstly when u miss someone , clinge to someone who is very dear to you. I learnt one has to take the course of crying , starving and thinking over again and again on why to loose someone who has been very dearly and been a moral support right from the childhood. Trust me , it was like end of the world. Here are the things i did
- Take their stand in their family. You cannot replace them but u can be morale support for their family.
2. When things remind of the dears who are no more, deviate. I am a very shy person but still I played cricket. I never ran a mile or two in my life. But sports completely changed my mind set.
3. I visited their Facebook photos and messages over and over again. So I had to shut down social media for years.
4. Trying to cherish their memories was tough. But later learnt to cherish their memories and started donating in the name of them, which brought so much relief.
5. Find the right person to share your feelings. There are people who will say ‘hey, u have a family. First take care of ur family. Be bold etc’. It doesn’t work out that way. They were my family too. Attach to people who says ‘ I understand ‘.
6. Find a pet or find a new hobby.
7. I lost love over all the materials. I gave up dressing and I had put on so much weight. I lost my hair. There are days I drank five to six coffees in a row. Sometimes I kept eating all the time. So find a routine and stick to it. Or u will be succumbed to worst nightmare.
8. After a year, lost the feeling of existence. So I had to read books to get back the humane feeling. Even today I spend time reading hard copies.
9. Now I see them as guardian angels.
10. I lost the fear of failure and I had to remind myself to be happy. That’s a very bad state. Whatever happens life has to move on. So I restarted everything from scratch.
My journey was very tough. But find the right person to hold on . It can be ur mom or dad or husband. Trust me u r not alone in this world.
